Tamale Mayor position: Sule Salifu to replace Musah Superior

Northern Regional director of communications for the New Patriotic Party, Sule Salifu have been nominated by President Akufo Addo to represent him at the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly. The announcement was made Sunday afternoon by the minister of Local government and Rural Development, Dan Botwey at a press briefing.

Sule Salifu has been chosen over six other persons who were all bidding to occupy the position. If confirmed by Assembly members in the Tamale Metropolis, he will replace the controversial Musah Superior as the new mayor of Tamale.

Below is a brief history of Sule Salifu :

Salifu Sule lives and vote in the Tamale Metropolis and is also an active, avowed, dedicated, committed and member of the NPP for over 20 years.

He was Regonal Secretary of the NPP for the Northern Region during which period the NPP improved in performance at both the Presidential and Parliamentary levels.

He also served as a pioneer member of the Regional Communication team of the NPP in the Northern Region which was then known as PRIM.
.
He is currently the Regional Communicators Director of the NPP for the Northern Region through which he propagates government policies and programmes effectively.

It must be stated that Salifu Sule held senior government positions at Management levels in the Region for nearly two decades.

He was the Northern Regional Monitoring officer for the Ghana School Feeding Programme under President Kufour and currently works as the Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency for Northern Region.

He has worked with the Judiciary Service of Ghana in the past and has a firm grips of the Local Government Act and operations.

The incoming Mayor of Tamale was President of TESCON of the NPP at the Tamale Polytechnic now Tamale Technical University during which period he performed his role with distinction.

Salifu Sule holds a Masters Degree in Organisational Development and other certificates.

He cuts across well with all stakeholders in the Region including the youth.
