It is critical to keep in mind the current government’s motivation for conducting a national population and housing census. This isn’t the first time this country has done anything like this. It was done in 2000, 2010, and we plan to do it again this year.
The motivations behind the conduct of this serious exercise are evident and widely known, but current government led by Akuffo Addo and Bawumia is taking it to a new level.
The exercise is intended to assist the country in better understanding its population in terms of number, age, and agenda in order to aid the country’s socioeconomic development.
The conduct of this exercise requires individuals with the skill, competence, and in-depth knowledge to promote the exercise’s operations, not party boys, because at the end of the day, Ghanaians require nothing more than reliable and correct data. It is critical to emphasize unequivocally that the leadership of the New Patriotic Party in some selected districts in the northern area has jeopardized the program, despite the fact that the exercise is being funded by tax payers, not the New Patriotic Party.
When we continue to politicize some major national exercises, such as this one, we will never have trustworthy and accurate statistics.
We condemn this action in our region and demand that the central government summon its party leadership in the northern region and as soon as possible to avoid chaos, destruction, wasting resources, as the program cannot succeed without the support and cooperation of members of the National Democratic Congress in the region.
The northern area is our home, and we will not be left out of such an important exercise.
